About Us

NAMI Shoreline is an affiliate of NAMI and NAMI Connecticut and was founded in 2012, to respond to the mental health needs of the greater Shoreline community.  Our mission is to

  • Provide support, education and advocacy for people with mental illness and their families, friends, and significant others.
  • Promote better quality of care, rights and interests of people with mental illness, particularly of those who cannot speak for themselves, and to advocate policies at the local, state and national levels to accomplish these objectives.

To accomplish these goals we provide support groups, informational meetings, and education that is free of charge and open to the public. Across the nation NAMI is dedicated to the eradication of mental illnesses and the stigma so often associated with them.

We welcome feedback and participation from all our members.  Together we can improve the quality of the lives of individuals and their families in our community.  Email Namishoreline@gmail.com

It’s OK to not be OK.It’s okay to talk about suicide. Thoughts of giving up and suicide can be frightening. Not taking these kinds of thoughts seriously can have devastating outcomes. If you are concerned about suicide and don’t know what to do, call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline '1-800-273-TALK (8255)'.
